I was referred to Ms. Sabrina by a family member and my best friend. After the 1st day, my son said he had never had an instructor that was that in-depth with information. He absolutely loved Ms Sabrina. He took the ACT test 2 days after the June boot camp, and moved his score 3 points. Now that he has time to practice the information he was taught, he knows he will have even better results. I can’t thank Ms Sabrina enough for the confidence boost he needed and the plethora of information she shared with me as a parent. If I had to describe this company using one word, it would be priceless. My daughter completed the first phase of the assessment session and I am beyond satisfied with the results. Also, My Credit Restoration company was blessed to be apart of the Back to School Stem Event in which we provided an informational booth on homeownership and credit restoration. My daughter is a senior in high school this year and I knew that there would be a lot of moving pieces with getting her prepared for college. I recognized that a lot has changed and more time has passed since I have had to prepare for the same journey and was unsure of how to get my daughter positioned for success. Thats when I ran into Sabrina and learned about One Shot Education! I am extremely happy that I made the decision to enter my child into this program. Sabrina was very helpful with helping my child understand what was needed for her to achieve her goals. We also took advantage of the ACT prep that was offered. As Executive Director for more than 2 years at SCPHA, I say without reservation that the 2017 Back to School Event was the most positive experience I have seen for our youth, their parents and staff. What helped push it over the top was the attitude and willingness of the volunteers. They had a professional approach that also allowed them to seem like family to our youth. It was refreshing and a "stereotype breaker". We all saw that when given "choice" the youth chose learning and being amazed rather than music and play which was also present. Ms. Sabrina Lewis' ability to relate to the youth, residents, and the officials was without precedent and now everyone is requesting a date for the next event.

Does Mrs. Sabrina act as a mentor for me? No, the truth is she has been more than just a scholarly and professional mentor for me. She has acted as an honest friend, a mother, and a mentor on my journey. Whether it was late night text messages and phone calls about applications and internships or her checking in on me everyday to aim for the land beyond success. She doesn't want me or any other mentee to just be successful, she wants us to make a difference in the world! I'm not under the influence that One Shot is a program to encourage young scholars that they only get one shot in life. No, I'm a believer that Mrs. Sabrina has instilled in me that it only takes ONE SHOT, to become a successful scholar, and become an influential professional in today's world. When I think of Mrs. Sabrina, simply mentor doesn't come to mind, because she's been so much more. I met Mrs. Sabrina when I was 13- eight years ago when I attended a summer science camp. It was my first time being away from home and my first academic challenging experience outside of my home. Even though I didn't see much confidence when I looked in the mirror, she saw something and it only takes that much to turn a child's life around. Here I am, eight years later, a third year chemistry major at Louisiana State University. Even though my 13 year old self never thought I would be able to accomplish such, she did- and the frequent texts, phone calls, and warm welcomes to come to her at any time has definitely showed it. So thank you, Mrs. Sabrina, for being more than a mentor. Thank you for being someone to look up to, thank you for being so encouraging and thank you for treating me as if I was your own. I can't wait to see how many more lives you have yet to touch!

BREA

Not only Mrs. Lewis my mentor, she is also my mother. One Shot has contributed to 100% of my success and to who I am today. Through One Shot I learned how to use my brilliant mind to and connect it with my passion for helping others. In addition, One Shot opened the doors of many opportunities that I would not have been able to open alone. Through One Shot I learned to never limit myself, and as a result, I have the privilege of attending a four year university for free and the privilege of presenting my research all over the country. One Shot has guided me to a place that I would have never reached alone, and One Shot is still opening doors for me three years after completing high school.

So far One Shot has helped me understand the little things you have to learn and or know about the ACT. I feel like One Shot has helped me with test taken skills not only for the ACT but any test that I have to take from now and until I graduate from College.

My experience with One Shot was amazing. One Shot presented many scholarships and summer programs. I received one-on-one help with personal statements and resumes. One Shot also offered tutoring to improve my act score. I recommend One Shot to anyone who wants or needs extra help.

One Shot has been a great resource for my daughter. Mrs. Sabrina has exposed her to various scholarships, ACT prep courses, and summer enrichment programs. The exposure has built knowledge, character, and her resumes, and at the same time improved her self-esteem and self-confidence. This summer my daughter is attending LA TECH. This program will prepare her for her next milestone, the college life. The experience of college size classes and the exposures of independence will place her ahead of her peers. She will also receive college credits for the classes taken at the end of the program. I love that One Shot looks at each student individually according their needs no general lay outs. My daughter had taken the ACT a couple of times, and experienced some difficulties in the math portion of the test. She had become a little discouraged from not obtaining the score she wanted.
